Are you Australia’s next rising star in design?

AW Design Competition 2020 is all about Sustainable Design. If you’re a student or design professional with a design concept in mind, now is your chance to explore and execute it.

Andreu World started its annual competition in the year 2000, providing a launch pad for design students and professionals of all ages across the globe.

To enter the competition, you need to design a seat and/or table that satisfies both the technical and formal problems as outlined in Andreu World’s product briefing here.

Your project submission must include a prototype, technical report and plans, diagrams, sketches, renders or images of your design. It’s optional (but recommended) to include a feasibility study outlining the innovative contributions that increase the product quality of your design, such as production costs, ergonomics and compliance.

The competition closes on 27th November 2020 with the awards ceremony held in December. First prize will receive €5000 and second prize, €2500. Prizes are awarded by a jury of professionals that includes Philippe Starck (industrial designer), Paola Antonelli (senior curator, MoMA), Ana Domínguez Siemens (journalist), Alberto Anaut (director at La Fábrica) and Luis Fernández-Galiano (architect).
