Isn’t this geniusly simple little creation adorable?   Don’t let its looks fool you though, whilst the Waf table lamp by Israeli designer Asaf Weinbroom for Hive [design by hive] may look good, it’s also a rather clever. Comprising two sheets of maple veneer fastened together with a button, Waf pays homage to the movement of mechanical objects and cleverly fuses function; the top hood portion is adjustable to change direction of illumination (two ways; through either end of the hood!) which easily changes the lighting effect in a space – the possibilities and creative uses for Waf are endless.   To add in a bit of fun, Waf is also available as a suspension lamp.

All pieces designed by Weinbroom bear similar qualities which form his signature. He specializes in producing hand-crafted wooden lamps and is fascinated with the movement of objects. We currently have a Waf table lamp and many other Hive [design by hive] pieces on display in the showroom.  If you’re Sydney based be sure to drop in, say hi and check them out.
