  • About the Product

Artifort F574, Le Chat, looks as if it were designed with a single movement of the pen. The backrest and seat seem to leap out of the rear base. It makes the chair both inviting and dynamic. A pleasure to sit on. With Le Chat, Pierre Paulinused aluminium profiles for the first time as a base. Later, he also used them for the Groovy, one of Artifortメs classics. In 1969, Le Chat deservedly won the Monza Design Award.
  • The Brand

Good design (ars) and durability (fortis) come together in Artifort, a manufacturer of some of the world’s most epochal furniture. Upholsterer Jules Wagermans founded the company in Maastricht in 1890. Following World War II, Artifort shed its traditional roots to embrace the modern movement under the guidance of interior/furniture designer Kho Liang le. Collaborations with the likes of Theo Ruth (Congo chair), and Gerrit Rietveld, cemented Artifort’s reputation with architects and design lovers as a manufacturer at the cutting edge of design.
