The Diseno Ahorro Energetico, S.A. (DAE) company, was established in 1984 with the objective to research manufacturing, installation and commercialisation of all types of energies. Between 1988 and 1989 DAE acquired the Polinax brand which specialised in the manufacturing of fire-places. The idea of providing fire for warmth and light lead to the development of outside and inside lights as well as street furniture.

In 1991, the prestigious DELTA DE ORO had been granted by the ADIFAD to the FAROLA TRONIC designed by Antoni Riera and manufactured by DAE. This reconfirmed that DAE was heading in the right direction with the right designers and in 1992, with the Olympic games of Barcelona and the World Expo of Seville approaching, DAE stepped up its production
of street furniture and lighting.

Important works had been made such as the ANDREA designed by Martorell, Bohigas and Mackay in the Olympic port of Barcelona. Since that time the company has continued to grow and develop important export markets in France, United Kingdom, Japan, Italy, Germany, Switzerland and Australia.
