The umbrella was used in ancient Rome, Greece and China thousands of years ago. It's current design is the work of Samuel Fox (1873) who improved it's frame and ensured it remained uniformly folded once closed. The use of the umbrella then became widespread and has remained so until today.
Platea is a high capacity umbrella stand with a minimalist structure which allows umbrellas to remain visible. A highly functional solution offering support for all types of umbrella, from long, formal designs to short collapsible models. Massana + Tremoleda for Mobles114.
