The Smile stacking chair, designed by Lievore, Altherr, Molina for Andreu World, has been awarded the Wallpaper Design Award 2008 for best dining chair by the prestigious British interior and lifestyle magazine, Wallpaper. The jury consisted of internationally acclaimed architects, creative artists and designers such as Donatella Versace, Patricia Urquiola and Tadeo Ando. Andreu World is renown for its contemporary and vanguard furniture design, also recently awarded the prestigious Spanish National Design Award 2007.
The Smile is characterised as a romantic chair, somewhere between the Orient and the Occident, a chair of classical references. Made of solid timber and stackable to four units, the Smile combines visual lightness with structural strength, making it an ideal choice for both contract and residential markets. The Smile family consists of stackable chair, armchair, bar stool and bar stool with backrest, all available in two sizes and with slat or board back.
