Globetrotting artist Lola Dupré’s latest work is something enviable of every scrapbook the world over.  Dupré produces “exploded” portraits of musicians, art works, pop culture figures and Hollywood icons through the painstaking medium of collage.  The talented artist begins with a source image, and reproduces it innumerable times.  Armed with a humble pair of scissors, Dupré begins.  She cuts portions of the image and reassembles it in a repetitive pattern, each piece radiating further from a centralized focal point. The result of this laborious process is almost a broken mirror, fragmenting a reflection of these well-known legends.  There are but three Academy Award winners in this post sharing in 5 Oscars - can you name them? See Dupré’s website for the entire collection.
